The Trials and Tribulations of Scabie

Scabie (the moniker that Jeff affectionately bestowed on Baby) was looking a little worse for the wear last week so I decided to make the unprecedented move of hiding her from Olive (while Olive was up) and then throwing her in the washer.

Here is Olive, blissfully unaware of Scabie's current predicament.

As soon as I send a gloating tweet (a gleet?) that Olive hasn't even noticed that I took Baby she asks for her. Of course. I decide to just bite the bullet and show her Baby taking a bath.

Not so sure about it - "Mama, get my Baby!"

Luckily she warmed up to the idea a little bit. "Look Mama, Baby's swimming!"

Little Farm and Steam Trains

The weekend before Easter we drove over to Tilden Park to enjoy a few of their amenities. Our first stop was to Little Farm to hit up the playground and then feed the animals some celery.

After we (and by we I mean me, Taki and Grandma Linda) fed all of our celery to the animals we headed over to the steam train. Here's a parting shot at Little Farm - right now the kids are a teensy bit terrified Taki is going to feed them to the cows.

Once we hit the trains Nikos was in his element while Olive was, once again, terrified for the first minute or so. Luckily she snapped out of it!

It may look like Nikos is in pain but he was having a grand ol' time.

Olive, trying to visualize her safe place.

View of the train.

View of the landscape.

And view of our my bloody mary once we got back home.

Pretty Soon I'll Be Sharing a Cell with Lindsay Lohan

A few weeks ago we headed to Pizza My Heart for dinner. Since it was a Tuesday night they had their Kids Make Your Own Pizza deal and in addition the night was part of a fundraiser for Brian Stow (Giants fan currently in a coma from being beaten in LA on Opening Day).

On the way in Nikos climbed up on this sculpture and asked me to take his picture.

Nikos was very excited to make his own pizza. (Good thing too since they forgot about -??- the first ones that the kids did and they burned in the oven so we ended up making two rounds.)

Olive (and Baby) added toppings to their pizza.

Pepperoni may have been a little too spicy for Olive.

After dinner we played outside on the grassy courtyard at Bay Street. The kids were having a lot of fun until Nikos got in trouble for jumping...

and I got in trouble for TAKING PICTURES.

What?! Yes, the security guard told me I wasn't allowed to take pictures because we were on private property and they didn't want them to show up on Facebook or anything like that. WHAT? For those that are unfamiliar with Bay Street and are now under the mistaken that it is a bank vault or some sort of federal building, IT IS NOT. It is an outdoor shopping area in Emeryville, maybe something that would like some publicity like "Bay Street - what a great place to eat and play!" or "the kids are loving Bay Street!" Totally bizarre and annoying. Of course, by the time he reprimanded me I had already tweeted a pic and posted something on fb - naturally I had to complete the trifecta by blogging about it.

Game On

More Alumni Game (yes, it wasn't just Olive on the catwalk.) And by more Alumni Game I mean pictures of the kids during the game and then more pictures after the game, since apparently I was too busy to take pics during the game. You will have to take my word that there actually was a game. And since you are taking my word for things - I am just going to go ahead and tell you that the alumni won it.

Nikos on his own catwalk - or demonstrating the fact that he needs a haircut.

Marco, Nikos and Clara playing in the stands.

The game ends (you know - after the aforementioned alumni blowout) and the kids run the bases. Pictured: Ryan, Nikos and Tyke.

And the shot of all the kids. Remember when Nikos used to be the one that would cry and ruin the picture? Well now Olive is the new Nikos.

And we're done!

What a fun time. Not pictured was even more fun had by the adults after the game since we ditched the kids with the grandparents. WOOHOO!

On the Catwalk

For Taki's alumni baseball game I made Olive a tutu (!!) with the SI colors. She was a big fan and enjoyed strutting her stuff.

Not pictured: the matching tutu I made for baby. (I know! Who am I?!)

Pooltime in March

We've been enjoying some great weather lately and a few weeks ago (a month ago?) the kids and I crashed the Cecchin's house to enjoy the sun.

The boys surveying the yard.

They stripped down to enjoy some pooltime.

After naptime Olive borrows a shirt from Marco.

Niko's version of flexing his muscles.

Marco suggests soccer.

The kids plotting something - Marco looks to be the ringleader with Olive listening intently.

Olive (fresh from a too short nap) realizes she is slumming it in a tshirt and promptly throws a small fit and demands that we put her skirt on.

Issue resolved - on to more fun!

Opening Day

(still getting caught up on blog posts...)

We celebrated opening day with some orange hair dye. Obviously this was Taki's idea.

On Olive it looks a little pink (mid little piggy bite.)

Go Giants!
