PlayDate

While Sarah & Jeff enjoyed dinner out for Sarah's birthday the boys amused themselves at our house.

Conversation overheard:

(Playing with moonsand)

N: Come help me, baker!
M: Are you stuck?

M: I'm gonna be the yellow Spongebob.
N: Yeah, I'm gonna be the green punchbob.

(Eating a Snack)

N: Do you have milk at your house?
M: Yeah it's for everyone to share.

N: I love your hair Marco.
M: Thanks.

(Watching Toy Story)

Let's Go Giants!

Turns out that being at home eating bon bons all day is a lot of work - so much so that I am behind on the blog. ;)

Here's a shot from Game 5 of the World Series. I think the Chili Pepper will appreciate the fact that I got the shot without the lovely piece of our tv (GHETTO) impeding the picture.

Sadly, it made it into the second shot.

I couldn't stay on this image long enough to get the crossed arms point to the sky, as I wanted to get Taki and Nikos at the win.

I know, not great, but I think I captured the moment.

Next up - the Parade! The convenient thing about suddenly being without job is the fact that you don't need to ask for the day off.

After riding into the city on a packed train we set off to meet Taki so we could watch together. The agreement was that we were going to meet in front of Taki's work - since the alley that Method is on leads right out onto Montgomery, near the start of the parade. Taki had been checking out the window and up until the last time I talked to him (just as we got off the train) the street was not blocked off. Perhaps I should have spoken to the Philly fam about Parade etiquette and the fact that it is nearly impossible to get a cell signal or find someone. We get to the corner where we are supposed to cross to meet Taki and, shocker, the streets are already blocked off. Did I mention that I was afraid the kids were going to get a contact high from the crowd wearing the Let Timmy Smoke shirts? Perfect. Luckily in the midst of panicked calls to Taki involving "where the he** are you, it is CRAZY out here!" I ran into a man and his daughter who offered to let us share a building ledge with them. Phew.

Nikos sports his best excited face (inherited from Dad.)

Aforementioned crazy crowds.

With Nikos sitting up on the ledge behind me and Olive squirming in the ergo I tried to take some more shots of the crowd. I ended up with about 30 shots of this.

I know it's nothing but with all my combined CSI/Law&Order watching I was thinking "if there was a crime committed in one of those windows I may have caught it on tape!"

I digress...and now, what follows to be many pictures of barely visible Giants or Giants staff.

Kruk and Kuip

Jon Miller
Fear the Beard! I thought this was an m-n-m until he turned around and there was a little wind-up on his back. So who knows what it is

The back of Cody Ross (in black)!

The back of Aaron Rowand (to the right of the pole)

Matt Cain - he was so cute, videoing everything with his flip camera. (He is to the right of the hand holding the camera.)

Andres Torres!

Brian Wilson!

I don't think you can see Buster at all in this cable car, but we were really excited about this one. :)

My favorite - Aubrey Huff.

Great parade!

After the barricades came down we crossed to Taki's work to hang out for a little while.

Olive chills with the Method pup.

And shows off her orange ponytail (look closely.)

Here's to more Parades!

Girls Day

Happy Veterans Day! With daycare closed (and preschool open) O and I enjoyed a girly day.

First up, Starbucks.

She picked out this shirt to wear this morning. I had her in a different one (actually the one underneath) and she squealed and squealed and said "Pees, Pees" so I put this one on her.

She used the same tactic later to get me to buy her new shoes! Little diva. After she said "shoooz, shoooz, pees pees!" about 20 times I relented and bought them for her. I mean, she does need more shoes that fit anyway, and we were at the used clothing store so it didn't set me back too much. Sadly, I had to take the $10 out of my Movies budget (yes, you read that correctly)...

After a quick costume change the last item on our agenda was to meet up with Katie & Brookie for lunch at CPK and then a little shopping. Here's a video of Olive strutting her stuff in her new shoes.

YouTube Video

Can't wait until she is old enough for me to add pedicures into the mix!

Hey Ladeeeez

I knew I'd seen this somewhere before.

Marco and Nikos at Silverlake this summer - possibly checking out a chic?

Followed by Jeff and Taki at LMU, late 90s - definitely checking out a chic.

Trick or Treat x Two

Hmm - suddenly I have a whole lotta time on my hands...

On Halloween day we walked the kids down to 4th Street where the vendors offered treats for the kids.

First up was Z Gallerie where we practiced our "trick or treat"s and "thank you"s.

Olive (an alien from Toy Story 1) lets Nikos (Buzz Lightyear) take the lead.

On Olive's way in she accidentally drops her likeness - alien!

Olive works up the courage to walk into the bookstore on her own.

Back outside the kids get to fish for prizes in front of a shoe store.

Olive comes out of Benefit with her loot.

Nikos eyes Olive's latest candy conquest.

And we wrap it up about an hour later when Buzz and the alien were close to melting - and I don't mean melting down, I mean actual melting since it was HOT out and the poor kids were dressed like it was Halloween in the cold parts of the country.

I think the kids were equally happy with all of the places handing out candy, while my personal favorite was the place that offered wine and cheese to the parents as well - nice!

For the actual trick or treating we headed over to the Cecchin's house.

The alien was ready to go!

Baby Jack toys with the idea of going as a fireman.

Cinderella, Hot Dog, Buzz and Alien pose begrudgingly before we head out.

Getting ready to go out the kids were SUPER excited - as evidenced in these photos.

Up at the door.

Action shot!

Sarah, Katie and baby Jack wait for the team.

We spotted a black cat! Surprised his owners let him out for the night.

The kids (with Avery the neighbor) after a successful night.
