The kids and I headed over to the zoo today. First stop: giraffes.
One of the elephants was entertaining us by squirting water on the rocks.
Meerkats.
Nikos poses with a statue in the African section of the zoo.
Our first ride was the train - Nikos was super excited that we got to sit in the very first seat behind the conductor. Olive (who has been on a bunch of different trains before) was terrified and kept asking if we could please get off the train.
Still terrified. She actually told me she wanted to go take a nap.
View from the train.
Olive still isn't tall enough to ride most of the rides (even though they let her on this one time) so Nikos rode solo.
He really wanted to go on the Tiger roller coaster (that Olive is too small to ride on, even with an adult) but I told him that we couldn't go on it because he had to ride with me and we had no one to hold Olive. He suggested we just have a stranger hold her. Nice. I declined and we rode the carousel instead.
St. Patrick's Day (yes, I am that behind on blogging) started out with Olive and I having fun around the house.
We kicked off the celebration at none other than Starbucks!
Olive shows off her St. Patrick's Day colors (the skirt she is wearing is the Eggert handmedown that I had to buy off a customer at our garage sale because she saw it first!) Conveniently, we got the coordinating handmedown shirt from Kiwi!
The weather got warmer so she decided to ditch the tights.
We were lucky enough to get to watch Marco while Jeff picked up his new car. I am not being facetious here, Marco is Toddler Crack at my house. (Quite different from Baby Crack.)
The boys play with moonsand.
I think we are going to need to get someone else behind the camera to get all three looking at me and smiling. Or maybe I need to learn to stop trying to compete with snacks.
The Caped Avengers (SuperOlive and Spiderman) suit up to watch Nikos take a few pitches.
We all enjoyed a little baseball in the backyard.
Not pictured: no cornbeef and cabbage for us! We enjoyed burritos from Picante (they go well with any occasion.)
Okay, so this is not that interesting of a post but I thought the PA relatives would get a kick (laugh) out of it.
A few weeks ago it was storming thunder and lightning - so unusual for here! I was loving it and even got the kids up out of bed to check it out. Nikos thought it was pretty cool but Olive wasn't too impressed. In the midst of the storm it started crazy hailing! So fun!
For Olive's birthday party (yes I am that far behind on blogging) I framed a picture of her each month (and one from 2.5 months so I could include the PA visit) since she had been born. Creative idea, right? I stole it from my photographer!
Here's the whole shebang - months 0-23 (I figured month 24 was in person.) You should be able to click on the photos to enlarge them.
Months: Newborn through 3 months.
Months: 4 through 11.
Months: 12 through 16.
Months: 17 through 23.
And I closeup of the cute personalized princess banner I bought on etsy.
These are a few weeks old but I had to share them because I find them hysterical. We picked up these moustaches at the Macaroni and Cheese SF Food Wars (one of the teams "Moustache Mac" was handing them out.)
Just prior to Olive's birthday we upgraded Nikos to a twin size "big boy bed." Here's a shot of him checking it out the first day. He loved it!
Olive was moved from the crib she was in to this one that used to be Mason's and then was Niko's. The one she was in was just a crib but this one converts to a toddler bed. Of course, I plan on keeping her in a crib forever since I coincide Niko's move to the toddler bed with the demise of his naps...
I know that I have soooo many blog posts to get to but I just don't have the time right now - busy cleaning the house and prepping for a job interview tomorrow for what looks to be a really awesome position. Fingers crossed!
In the meantime I will piggyback on two of Sarah's recent posts and point you to her blog - check out this and this.
