I Love Thanksgiving Vacation

This year the Kienzle Family Thanksgiving Trip was to Palm Springs. On the Saturday before Thanksgiving we loaded up the car for the drive down. We scored a cheap dvd player with two screens for the car and set the kids up with some movies to help keep them occupied.

Nikos takes his movie watching very seriously.

Olive, on the other hand, was more concerned with letting baby listen to the movie.

Every roadtrip we take we say we are going to map out the McDonald's with Playplaces before we head out - and of course we never get around to it. Turns out it is not easy to look this up on your iPhone while you are en route. Can someone please create an app where you can punch in your route and it will tell you all of the locations?

Luckily we were able to find this one in Castaic. I was wishing Jennie still lived there so we could have met up with them - next time! Nikos was pretty amazed by the indoor play structure. After watching him go down the slides a bunch of times Olive wanted to get into the action so I took one for the team and headed up.

So excited!

The drive itself took almost 10 hours but wasn't too brutal. We arrived in time to hang out for awhile at Aunt Connie's 65th birthday party. Good times!

The next day we enjoyed the Southern California weather by hanging out at the pool.

Nikos and Mason have fun in the water play area.

Kira and Nikos had some fun in the kiddie pool. Nikos was a big fan of pretending that someone was pushing him over and then crashing into the pool - and Kira quickly caught on.

Melanie will add the charming anecdote that right after I said "isn't that funny, he's acting like someone is pushing him in" he switched from "No No No" to "No Mom No." Ha.

Aunt Mary and Aunt Con came over to the timeshare to hang out with the kids and we all enjoyed lunch, chalk and bubbles.

Next up - Disneyland!
