The way it works in our house is that on the weekends, Taki gets up early with Nikos (7-7:30am) and Olive and I sleep in (8:30-9am.) This started when Olive was born...well actually, I guess it started when I was pregnant...hee hee! Anyway, after Olive was born I would get up to feed her in the middle of the night, so Taki would make up for it by letting me sleep in the next morning. Lucky for me, Olive now sleeps through the night and Taki still lets me sleep in! Wahoo! Hopefully he will not read this post and realize I am pulling one over on him.
Anyway, on Saturday night I told Taki that I would be the one to get up with Nikos in the morning and he could sleep in. Before Taki and I went to bed Saturday night we looked out the window and saw a light dusting of snow on the ground. So exciting! We were both hoping that it would stick around until morning so that the kids would be able to enjoy it. I mean, there was such a small amount that for a brief second I wanted to wake Nikos up to show it to him in case he missed it!
Sunday morning Nikos wakes up at EIGHT am (ha!) and I get up with him. We go out to the living room and I pull up the window shade in anticipation and SCREAM. I was so excited I was practically jumping up and down. It looked like what you want to wake up to on Christmas morning. Well, at least what I want to wake up to anyway.
We bundled again and headed out to play in the snow.
Snowballs! Yes, Nikos wasn't really understanding the fact that snow on the ground was snow on the ground, he thought it was called snowballs. "Snowballs in the tree momma. Snowballs on the ground!" Of course, he caught onto throwing snowballs very quickly too.
And finally, Olive sitting up.
