After our Greek Easter party I insisted we dye Easter eggs since we hadn't yet had the chance to do it and Easter was the next morning. Luckily Brookie was still there so she got to enjoy in the egg dying with Nikos & Olive.
The older kids wanted to do funny faces for the picture - as you can guess, O doesn't completely "get" it yet.
Olive concentrating on her eggs.
Side note - Under Olive's right arm you'll notice "Other Baby". On the day of our Greek Easter party Olive's daycare provider dropped off a new baby for Olive. She looked almost exactly the same as Scabie Baby except with a different eye color and outfit. She thought we might be able to swap out the babies, I was a little dubious. Fast forward to Olive waking up from her nap, I took her out to the deck where the party was in full swing and snagged Scabie Baby from her. I came back inside and grabbed the new baby, went back out on the deck and gave her to Olive. Olive grabbed the new baby and tucked her under her arm, just like she did with Scabie Baby. I was floored, I couldn't believe it could be that easy to swap out a new baby...that is, until she looked at me and said (in a total possessed by the devil voice) "Where's MY BABY?" Ha. She still drags Scabie Baby everywhere with her but she does tolerate "Other Baby" as she's deemed her.
Nikos demonstrates "a watched egg never dyes".
Second guessing his color choices.
Things got a little difficult the next morning since I explained to Taki that the Easter Bunny always hides the hardboiled eggs as well as the baskets. We realized that Nikos usually gets up about 2 hours before Olive does so hiding the eggs was going to be tricky. We ended up having Taki distract the kids in their room so the Easter Bunny could get down to business. Ollie wanted to put on her dress as soon as she woke up but Nikos opted to hunt in pjs.
Egg Hunt!
Counting his eggs.
Sporting the bunny ears (later in the afternoon after she decided to change into a new dress.)
Checking out their loot.
The kids did really well, Nikos was great about pointing out eggs to Olive that she missed. Looking forward to next year!
