On Sunday morning my parents joined us (they would then stay until Friday - lucky ducks!) We got up and got ready in the morning and waited for them to arrive so they could join us for more sledding. Nikos, Olive and I sat up on one of the window seats anxiously awaiting their arrival so Nikos could zoom over to the balcony in the bedroom and yell "HI POP-POP, HI GRAMMY!"
After getting settled we headed back out to the sledding hill. Nikos acted like he was old hat at sledding this time, demanding to go on his own. We practically had to coerce him into letting us go with him at all.
Here's one of his solo rides down the hill. One of the adults would let him go from the top and then we usually had one or two spotters on the hill to make sure he didn't get out of control or crash. (Or I guess in my case it was to guarantee he crash - whatever.) In this video you'll see Taki running behind Nikos and then my Dad at the bottom.
Here's Nikos going solo and then Olive and I cruising down.
One more of Nikos with a cameo of Olive in the beginning
And finally - the one that landed him the first of the bruises on his face.
Luckily Nikos recovered fine after all of the spills - despite the fact that in this pic he looks like he his being towed by ski patrol. (Are you getting bad flashbacks Mel?)
After an hour or so we headed back to the timeshare so we could have lunch and pack up to drive home. While we were packing up the car Nikos and Pop-Pop were throwing snowballs at each other and Nikos was finding it hysterical. Since the timeshare is at a lower elevation (and they salt the areas around the buildings) there wasn't nearly as much snow as the hill. In fact, the walkways were all devoid of snow and in order to find snow for the snowballs you had to go into the little landscaped areas to grab it. Nikos thought it was fun to run from Pop-Pop when he tried to throw a snowballs at him and one such time he was running on the paved cobblestones when he face planted. OUCH. He was able to shake it off pretty quickly but he did leave with some impressive road rash.
Great weekend in Tahoe - we can't wait to do it again!

Love the videos!! The one where he got the first bruises I'm sitting here watching, yealling at the computer, "He's going too fast!" Lol! Nice that he got some physical memories of his first sledding trip! Is it weird that his bruises look kinda cool on him?
I wonder if you & Taki will ever trust us again to be around your kids in the snow!
I love how the boys (yours and mine) love to be dragged back UP the hill rather than walking. In a few years will they pull us? :)
Wow, the snow was much more packed down for you and extra fast! At least no one broke anything LOL
